| This is a thread for all OOC bigtalk about the Fairytales' RPG, The Land of Stories.
Right off the bat, I have a question. Do we have our own OCs or do we choose a character from fairytales and use them as we see fit? Or either?
I'd like to play Jasmine--or her fairytale equivlant... I'd have to look up her name again. But if we're not doing that, I'm A-ok with that too.

| The answer is either, and a combination of the two. What I had in mind was original characters that have thing happen in their lives that try to force them into a fairy tale story. ... But stuff can happen to mess up the story. For an example, in one of Mercedes Lackey's 500 Kingdom books, a girl is set to be a sacrafice to a dragon. She is saved by a knight by the name of George, so it seems obvious that the story is about the fairy tale of "Saint George and the Dragon." The catch in this story is, the knight is actually a girl named Georgina, if I remember correctly. The force behind the stories, called "the Tradition," knows that the Damsel in Distress is supposed to fall in love with her knight. The girls don't swing that way, and despite that, they can feel the Tradition forcing them to like each other. They think back to the other fairy tales they know, and realise that in simular situations, the only way the girl didn't fall in love with the guy was when they were brother and sister. So, what the girls did to circumvent their "budding romance" was to become blood sisters, and that ended the Traditon forcing them to love each other. Long story short, original characters manipulating fairy tales to make their lot in life. Let me know if that was about as clear as mud, and I'll try to be clearer. | |

| I'd like to call the Hansel and Gretel characters--- got a fun plotline in mind for them, but I wanted to chat out the world a little bit before I post a bio. | |

| Okay, so I have an idea. Let me know if this would work:
Drawing upon the whole Aladdin story, my character is actually a handmaiden to Jasmine (she has a different name in the actual story, I'm just too lazy right now to look it up). If we want to unify the setting, we could have all the characters end up in a town/village/city setting. My character is apart of a convoy with Princess Jasmine coming to take part in an arranged marriage. When Jasmine runs away, my character has to pretend to be her. Now, from here she could either end up meeting Aladdin and he ends up liking her better, or we could tie this into another fairytale.
Is that closer to what you meant, Hill?

| Okay, I have another question. Two, actually. Do our characters all end up in the same town/city/village so that we can interact? And are they aware of fairytales in their own world, like they are in Lackey's world?
Oh, and if they end up in the same town/village/city, what do you want to call it?

| LOL, I know you haven't had time to pop in and answer, but I have to suggest this before I forget again. Slink and I had an idea. If we wanted to give this world some lofty, all knowing prophets, we could call them Grimm, Anderson, Aesop etc. just as a joke. What do you think? | |

| One, if we all end up in the same town, it will be easier on us to all interact, so that would be good. I don't really have a preference on the name of the town... we just need something... How about Andervani? It would be good if they were aware of the fairy tales, so then they could try to find ways to manipulate the stories. Lol! Bring on the philosophers! That would be so awesome! | |

| I like Andervani. I thought I needed it for my bio, but actually ended up not mentioning it, lol. Which, by the way, bio posted! I eagerly await my RP buddies! | |
